Electronic Component News (ECN) announced today that its Impact Awards program, which recognizes excellence in design, will be expanded to include three awards per category and will return to a live event format this October. The newly designed program provides an opportunity for more companies to be recognized in response to the increasing number of submissions each year, as well as feedback from previous winners who expressed their preference for the live event format. Now in its fourth year, the awards program will also deliver an element of surprise, as finalist companies will be informed that their organization has placed but will not know their award ranking until the live event.
The top three submissions in fourteen product categories will receive awards. Product categories include: Analog & Mixed Signal ICs; Boards, Modules & Embedded Systems; Cooling & Thermal Management; Electromechanical/Mechanical Devices; Microwave & RF; Optoelectronics; Packaging, Interconnects & Enclosures; Passive Components & Discrete Semiconductors; Power Sources & Conditioning Devices; Sensors; Software Design; Test & Measurement; Medical Device Design; and Rapid Prototyping.
In addition, Special Recognition awards will be given in the following categories: Social Corporate Responsibility, Market Disruptor, Contract Manufacturer Innovation, and Distributor Innovation. Only one winner will be chosen for each category of Special Recognition.
The application for this year’s program went live today. Entries must be submitted by June 1. Product or services introduced between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2016 are eligible. Finalists will be announced September.
